This month Company 1 responded to a total of 33 calls for service. There were 18 fire/CO alarms, 5 smells of smoke, 2 smells of gas, 1 rescue of an injured hiker, 1 elevator rescue, 1 grill fire, 1 fuel leak, 1 stand-by, 2 brush fires, 1 utility pole fire.

Last week the Ringwood Fire Dept. Dive Team hosted Company 1’s Dive Team for training at the Monksville Reservoir. Both teams spent a few hours training together in both diving and support techniques.

Fire companies 1, 3, 4, and 5 responded to a smoke condition on Pine Hill Road. After searching the home 115’s crew found that the cause of the smoke was a faulty boiler. Not long after all units returned to quarters.
Today at around 12:45 Rescue 1 was dispatched to the Ramapo Reservation to assist a hiker who was having cardiac issues. After hiking up to the patient Rescue 1 carried him down the mountain, to a waiting ambulance where he was transported to an area hospital.
