Tuesday evening, Fire Company 1 for an engine, Company 2 for a FAST team, and Company 3 for the SCBA truck, along with mutual aid companies from the surrounding area, responded to Airmont New York for a multi-alarm structure fire.
Upon arrival of first due Tallman units, firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions in the basement which extended throughout the residence. Engine 115 responded with a full crew and was ordered to establish a secondary water supply for South Spring Valley’s Ladder 25-99. After completing this task, Company 1 firefighters provided additional manpower for firefighting and overhaul operations, working to extinguish remaining pockets of fire on the second floor.
Company 1 operated on scene for approximately 3 hours before returning to the Township.
Job well done by all departments who operated at this challenging multi-alarm fire.
