Shortly before 5pm yesterday evening, Fire Companies 1, 2, 3, and 4 responded to a residence for a reported appliance fire in the kitchen.

Upon arrival, crews found that a dishwasher had caught fire but was extinguished prior to FD arrival. While the fire was contained to the appliance, firefighters removed the damaged washer from the residence and checked for extension while additional crews set up ventilation to clear the smoke condition from the home.

All units operated on scene for approximately 45 minutes before returning to quarters.
