Car Fire

The volunteer firefighters of Fire Rescue Company 1 had a busy morning responding to numerous calls.

At approximately 9:30am, Fire Companies 1, 2, and 3 were dispatched to the Masonicus section of town for a reported gas leak. Firefighters conducted air monitoring and secured the area while awaiting the arrival of PSE&G technicians.

Around an hour later, Companies 1 and 2 responded to Route 17 South for a vehicle fire. Rescue Engine 117 arrived on scene with a full crew and assisted with fire suppression operations along with supplying water to company 2. After extinguishing the flames, 117’s crew conducted overhaul to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
Additional Company 1 firefighters responded with the Reserve Engine (former Engine 117) providing additional manpower, water supply, and equipment if needed.

All units operated for approximately 90 minutes across both incidents before returning to quarters.
