Christmas Tree Fire Safety

As Christmas comes closer Mahwah Fire is reminding everyone to keep your tree watered. Each year over 200 homes experience a fire that started with their Christmas tree. As this video from NIST and the NFPA shows a fire in a dry tree can spread to the entire room in as little as 1 minute. Mahwah Fire is reminding everyone to keep heat sources such as fireplaces, radiators, candles, heat vents, and lights at least 3 feet away from your tree.
