This Sunday members from Rescue 1’s dive team along with divers from Ringwood Underwater Search and Recovery, Oradell FD, Lyndhurst FD and Parsippany Rescue & Recovery worked on their diving and searching skills at the Monksville Reservoir. The divers also worked to recover a simulated victim from the bottom of the lake. As the below video shows, this is a difficult and dangerous task that unfortunately each team must be prepared for.

This April Company 1 responded to 25 calls for service. This month there was 1 mutual aid request for the dive team, 2 elevator rescues, 2 ems assists, 10 fire alarms, 1 vehicle fire, 6 gas leaks, 1 burning electrical smell, 1 oven fire, and 1 dispatched structure fire. As always, the volunteer members of Company 1 are ready to respond 24 hours a day 7 days week.

At around 2:30 this morning Rescue 1 along with Fire Companies 2, 4, EMS North, and the Franklin Lakes Fire Dept. responded to Route 287 South for a motor vehicle accident and vehicle fire. After the fire was extinguished the accident scene was turned over to the New Jersey State Police.

It is with our deepest regret that we announce the passing of former Rescue Captain Bob Iannacone. Bob joined Company 1 in 1971 and was an active member until 1992. We will keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.
This March Company 1 responded to 34 calls for service. This month there was 1 chimney fire, 3 CO alarms, 4 DPW assists, 1 EMS assist, 1 elevator rescue, 17 fire alarms, 2 gas leaks, 1 mutual aid request for a fire, 1 oven fire, 1 stand-by, and 2 water rescues. As always, the volunteer members of Company 1 are ready to respond 24 hours a day 7 days week.
