Yesterday evening, Fire Co.1 responded to a local business for an activated fire alarm.
Upon arrival, 1st due Rescue Engine 117 gained access to the business to investigate the source of the alarm. Additional crews from Rescue 1 and RS-1 arrived to assist 117. While conducting a thorough search, crews located the source of the alarm activation to be a malfunctioning rooftop HVAC unit.
Firefighters secured utilities to the affected unit and verified no signs of fire or smoke.
All units operated on scene for approximately 30 minutes before returning to quarters.
