busy start to the weekend

Last evening marked a busy start to the weekend for the volunteer firefighters of Rescue Company 1. At around 8pm Friday, Engine 117, Rescue 1, along with Companies 2 & 4 responded to a residence for a reported burning odor. Upon investigation, firefighters traced the source to the fireplace, which was used earlier.

On Saturday, we were dispatched to one of the township hotels for an activated fire alarm. Engine 117, Rescue 1, & Engine 115 responded.

Later in the day, the third call brought Engine 117, Rescue 1, and Engine 320 to a residence for an odor investigation. Upon arrival, crews located the source as a malfunctioning clothes dryer. Co.1 firefighters secured the appliance before returning.

Between calls, our members took time to prepare apparatus and equipment for the forecasted winter storm. With several inches of snow expected tomorrow followed by extreme cold temperatures throughout the week, we remind all residents to exercise caution and be safe.
